Need help “lightening up” after the holidays?

If holiday celebrating left you feeling a little overstuffed, we’ve got good news.

The good news is that your physical weight probably didn’t change. Most people believe they gain 5-10 pounds over the holidays. The actual average is less than a pound.

The bad news is that your load of stuff probably got a lot bigger. While it is a joy to buy presents, and delightful to receive them, finding places to put all of those things can actually become quite stressful.

After we fill our homes and garages, we move on to packing sheds and storage spaces. As the years go by, the problem becomes more acute. Trying to figure out what to do with it all becomes a major headache.

For seniors, this can turn into a serious problem.  Having too many things can contribute to feelings of confusion and agitation. In their case, losing “weight” by downsizing can have significant health benefits!

The new year is the perfect time to think about slimming stuff down.  Start with a simple conversation.  Bring everyone in the family together to talk about what things they value most. Then make a collection of things you’re ready to pass on.

Need help? Take advantage of my New Year’s Gift:  A complimentary 1/2-hour consultation to get you started. Drop me a note to get on my calendar.

I also have a limited number of openings in my new One-Day-At-A-Time program,  designed especially for people who like taking things slow.

Here’s to a happy and healthy 2015!
